When will my order ship?

Dalkeith Press tries to ship everything quickly. Our books are in stock or made on demand.

Paper Books:
All orders ship by US mail, which picks up around noon New York time, Mon through Sat.

Most orders that come in by 10 am Mon thru Sat will ship the same day.

Most orders that come in after 10am Mon thru Fri ship the next day. Sometimes orders between 10am and 4pm ship the same day.

Sunday orders and later Sat orders usually ship Monday.

From time to time, staffing is down for vacations or emergencies. The shopping cart will usually let you know by giving a likely ship date.

Occasionally, glitches in the production of books printed on demand may delay a few orders for one or two mail days. This is uncommon but it can still happen with your order.

International shipments over 1 lb (.5 kg) must be personally present at the post office. These sometimes ship a day later than other packages.

In the US, Postal Holidays usually fall on Monday. We have 10 or so each year. Often your email shipping notice will mention these, but if not, your shipment will still have to wait until after the holiday.

The bottom line is that the vast majority of orders are shipped in the next mail pickup. If your order is one of the exceptions, please be polite when inquiring and every effort will be made to make things right for you.

Invalid Addresses within US:
All US addresses are validated against the USPS database. If you give an address that cannot be validated, your order will be held until you can give a more complete address. Business addresses in big buildings in major cities are the most common problem.  Give a complete street address and Suite number or floor number. Company names usually are not enough. This may seem picky, but almost all non-validating addresses end up being returned as undeliverable, or the customer never gets the package.

e-Books:
It is important that you CHECK YOUR SPAM/JUNK/BULK MAIL FOLDERS. E-books are sometimes diverted there.
e-Books are usually emailed within about 10 min of the order. This is automatic and unattended, so occasional internet or mail system hangups may delay this. Please wait 15 min and then be considerate if you need to inquire. The best contact method is by email to support@dalkeithpress.com.

Check your junk mail. e-Books are sent as email attachments. These email messages often end up in "junk mail", "bulk mail", or "spam" folders. Be sure to look in these folders before you email inquiring about your e-book order. Some email systems may refuse them completely (this is uncommon but can happen, especially with work email addresses).  This is a case where entering a workable phone number on the order can help us reach you.
